ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL

This is my desire to honor you
Lord with all my heart I worship you
All I have within me, I give you praise
All that I adore is in you

Lord, I humbly come into your presence
And may you listen to my every prayer
For I have been bothered by the calamities
That has affected the lives of many people

I have been experiencing some sleepless nights
Knowing that things ain't right
It's in the papers and it's also on the TV
And I can hear people talking about it almost everywhere I go

Children are crying, some people don't have a home
But I know that you will do anything in your power
That may help these people affected by the typhoon
And may these experience help them become stronger

I pray for peace for all the people affected by the typhoon
May they find peace with the people they meet
And lead them not into engaging in fights
But to help each other to have a better life

May you comfort the children with your everlasting love
Lord, may you give them enough wisdom
For them to think through all their problems
And come up with a solution

Enlightenment for those people who have doubts
Doubts, in the government's help and their own capabilities
Help them to understand that everything happens for a reason
And that it can make them a better and a stronger individual

We need to make an effort to keep the unity of the spirit
How beautiful and pleasant it is
When brothers live together in unity
For the presence of God is the source of all blessings

God, I know that you know what is happening
For you are the Almighty and Everlasting God
So I ask you to please help our country
To rise back to its former glory
In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

To Marjie,
I am not surprise or wander why Dennis leave you why? What reason can you think about but you're very fat body. I thought before that Dennis only use me to his toy but sooner and later I'm realize that he really can't not beared or stomached to be with you anymore because at first, Dennis say he could not stand you're habit of making pakialam all his walks (lakad) and always calling to their house what he go home or this or that.
And then he say he get ashame to me either in school or in his family and then asking you to exercise you're very very, very fat body. But you hate it. Thought you're the most preetiest girls he knows about. What do you think you are "BeautifulGirl" of Jose Mari Chan?
Even you are beautiful face (to your think) you do not have the right to called me whatsoever or else difference name one time or the other for the real purposed to insults my personality because I'm never call you names either in the front of Dennis or in the backs of Dennis, but if you start already to calling me different name, I don't have any other choice but to call you other different name to. Like you are a PIG, FAT, OBESSED, OVERWIGHT, AND UGLY SHAPE girl. Shame to you're body that is to a BUDING.
You can't not blame Dennis for exchanging you to me because I am the more sexier that you when you look to us in the mirror. I'm repeat again that you are like Ike Lozada when she is a girl.
Love,
The sexiest Girl of D.M.
P.S.
You say that I'm the bad breathe but who is Dennis want to kissed. Me or you? And the final is me. There you go.

                          To Marjie,
I am neither surprised nor wondered why Dennis leave you. Why? because of your fat body. Before, I thought that Dennis use me as his toy, later, I realized that he can't bear to be with you anymore. First, Dennis says that he couldn't stand your habit of meddling with what he is doing with his life and phoning him whenever he's at home.
He told me he is ashamed to be with you in school or in front of his family. He is also asking you to exercise and lose some weight. You think you're the prettiest girl he knows. Who do you think you are, Jose Mari Chan's " Beautiful Girl " ?
Even if you 'think' you're beautiful, you don't have the right to call me names. Because I never call you names whether Dennis' back is turned or not. But if you do call me by such names, I have no other choice but to do the same. I'll call you names such as pig, fat, obese, overweight, and poorly-shaped girl. Shame on you for being such a fat-ass.
You can't blame Dennis for choosing me over you because I have the sexier body. I repeat, you look just like Lozada when he was a girl.

Love,
The sexiest Girl of D.M.

P.S.
You say that I have a bad breath, but who did Dennis want to kiss? me or you? Me.

REACTION:

To be honest, I really had a hard time translating the letter. I also had a hard time typing the original text because I tend to laugh at every paragraph. Words can't describe how poor her English grammar was. I mean I usually ignore this kind of stuff especially when it has a bad grammar. I just can't stand those people who think that they're so great but turns out to be, they're not. She doesn't think first before she says something. I'm neither a grammar nazi nor really good at grammar, but at least I try to make my grammar as understandable as possible.

Writing Informal Themes. IT'S MORE FUN IN CAVSCI!!!

“Don’t focus on having a great blog. Focus on producing a blog that’s great for your readers.”- Brian Clark

“Blogs are whatever we make them. Defining ‘Blog’ is a fool’s errand.”- Michael Conniff. First of all, I think you can point out how I feel about writing our informal themes. Personally, I think doing our informal theme with the help of computers is a big step up and a big help for us students. For me, I don't just write informal themes just because it's a requirement for us. It's like writing is another outlet for me to express what I feel and how I feel about the things going around and how I can actually relate my experiences in life to my blogs.

I like doing our informal themes in blogger because I personally like doing blogs like what I do on Tumblr. You can just lie down on your bed, get your laptop and start blogging. It's easier to express what I really feel because I can just play a tons of music and get inspiration from the lyrics. I can also browse the books that I have for some useful quotes. I can easily express myself because here, they can't see me while I'm doing this. I live by the beach and sometimes I take a walk and look at the children playing in the sand or at the sunset just trying to look for an inspiration. But there are also some disadvantages that affects me while doing my informal theme. There are times that I look in my Facebook account not knowing I spend too much time on it rather than spend time finishing my blog. I also get lazy at times and just leave blogging for the next day until it's nearly the submission time. I also like doing blogs instead of writing because I know that I suck in cursive writing.

But the point  here is that I really do enjoy blogging and using blogger as our informal theme. I may not be as good as the other bloggers out there. But as long as I can express myself through these simple words, I think I'm good with that already.
"Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality."- Edgar Allan Poe.

Carpe Diem

Carpe diem means to seize the day. I started liking and using this phrase since I learned it. Why is that so? Because for me, it is important to live your life to the fullest and trying out new things instead of wasting your time doing nothing.

It all started when my parents asked me to go to the United States for a vacation. When I overheard my mom and dad talking on the phone, I heard them talking about my flight to U.S. At first, when I hadn't thought through it, I started hating my parents that time. And I had this thought in my head. "Why go there if I'm just going to live with my dad? I'd rather stay here than spend a month with him". There was a time when I shouted at my mom for making me go there even if I don't want to. But deep inside me, I know that there is nothing I could do to stop this from happening. And the last thing I know, I was at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport waiting for my plane. It's really hard for me to say goodbye to my mom, especially because I grew up with her always by my side. Because I never experienced growing up with my dad around. He left us when I was still about 1 1/2 month old. Even though I didn't really cried in front of my mom, deep inside, it feels like my heart's been crushed into million pieces. Seeing her face like she had lost everything, I couldn't help myself in thinking that it's all my fault.

When we were asked to board the plane, I instantly took my cellphone out and called my mom to say our last goodbyes. Hours passed and I wake up to the sound of the stewardess that we are to be discharged in the Vancouver Airport for the plane is to be refueled. When we got back the plane, I immediately slept out of boredom. The next thing I knew, we arrived at the McCaran Airport. I was assisted by a worker because I'm still a minor travelling without a companion. It took us a few hours to finish arranging the documents. After that, I went out of the immigration area and found my dad waiting for me. When he saw me, he immediately hugged me and I hugged him back in a very awkward manner. My stay in Las Vegas was fun especially when I get to try out some new stuff like their food and seeing a lot of people roaming around the streets. I stayed in Las Vegas for about 3 days before we went to Los Angeles.

I stayed there long enough for my cousins to tour me around Los Angeles. And I must admit that it really was fun doing those stuff. Even though I'm hesitant to go with them the first time. That's when I realized that I had to apply the phrase Carpe Diem. From then on, I started to like exploring new stuffs that's unfamiliar to me. I also went to San Francisco to visit my cousins on my mother side. When I arrived, they were all surprised because I've gotten so much bigger. In my stay there, I learned to be more responsible and to be more helpful. I get to experience a lot of things that I haven't done in my life. Like fishing. We also went to see the Golden Gate Bridge. And when I first saw it, I was really amazed by its beauty. For me, it's pretty because of its design. I love architectural stuffs especially when I saw those in person. My most memorable moment there was when I first experienced trick-or-treating with my cousins. I've never experienced doing that even as a kid because we don't do that here in the Philippines. I even wore a Super Mario costume and it was really fun dressing up and knocking on their doors asking for candy. When we finished trick-or-treating, we counted our candies but didn't really finished counting because we kept on eating each candy that we grab from our loot.

When I got back to Los Angeles, during the month of December, we went to a place where it is snowing. It's my first time seeing real snow and get the chance to touch it. When we'd arrived, I was amazed because it really is my first time seeing snow. I call the place "Winter wonderland". My cousins and I went to mountain high to try snowboarding. We also played sled with my younger cousins. And I must say that I keep on falling from the sled and end up sliding down the hill with my butt as the sled. I really had lots of fun during my stay there.

When I was leaving America to return back here, I learned a lot of new things. Especially when it's about trying to cope up with my dad. Also with me that day is not just things I intend to give my mom. It's the experience and memories that I will surely cherish for a lifetime.

Make Every Second Count

" To be, or not to be: that is the question: " This is probably the most famous speech in the English language and it is spoken by Hamlet in Act III, Scene I. This quotation may also mean " Now or Never " or " Take it or Leave it ". As a student, I can definitely say that this quotation happens everyday. So here's how it works.

First example. Whenever there's a new topic being discussed or a topic being re-discussed our teacher never forgets to ask us if there are any questions. Well honestly, there are times that I still get confused with that lesson, especially when it's math or geom, and I don't raise my hand. Actually I never, ever raise my hand whenever I can't understand the lesson. I just don't really feel like raising my hand. And that's one thing I regret. Second example. Our teacher is asking us questions about that topic and I feel like I know the answer but don't raise my hand. And when one of my classmates say the answer that's in my head, and it's correct, I always feel stupid. Why? Because I know the answer and didn't even raise my hand. I can definitely agree when our teacher says " There's no harm in trying ". And I really regret those moments.

Even if you're not a student, you can still relate the things that's happening in your life to the quotation. If there's something that's stopping us from succeeding or finishing the task, just always remember, make every second count. Because opportunity knocks only once. Do not waste your time doing useless things. And if there are times that we think we can't do it anymore and we lost hope, just pray to God. Because with Him, nothing is impossible.

English Lessons 101

Perfect Sense
by: Jezreel Nadine C. Guce

Going back to square one
All I could remember is that we didn't have much fun
'Cause our teacher got disappointed
When we can't remember the topic predated

As my mind tried to catch up
I feel like my mind is gonna blowup
So many functions of each type of verbal
I feel like it's gonna take life eternal

To memorize all the functions with great mastery
And understanding each clearly
Will surely be
A great achievement for me

Idiomatic expressions
They sometimes sound different and gives me different impressions
If it's the literal meaning
Or maybe the figurative meaning

William Shakespeare
A very talented author and actor that the readers endear
Expresses his thoughts through writing
And I find his works very addicting

The tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet
And the feud between the Montague and the Capulet
A masterpiece of the great William Shakespeare
That everyone will surely endear

Our group was tasked to re-enact the classical play
As we tried to memorize the original text all day
We re-enacted the scene in the balcony
But I feel like it ended up as a travesty

The adventurous seagull who is brave enough  to open his eyes
Who learned many things as he flies
Let himself wander and explore the world
To live his life to the fullest is what he told

Information and Communications Technology

Information and Communications Technology or (ICT), is a term that stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of telecommunications (telephone lines and wireless signals), computers as well as necessary enterprise software, storage, and audio-visual systems, which enable users to access, store, transmit, and manipulate information.

This requires the use of gadgets like computers, printers, cellphones, etc. But as a student, what ICT gadget really helps us the most? As a student, here is my overview and opinion on what gadget really helps the students.

For me, the most useful gadget ever made is the laptop. Why? because a laptop is a portable personal computer .A laptop has most of the same components as a desktop computer, including a display screen, a keyboard, a pointing device such as a touch-pad and speakers into a single unit. It may be smaller than our PC but it is entirely useful because it's portable, smaller and lighter. It's very convenient for us especially when we need to use a computer for our research and we need to bring it to school. Portability is usually the first feature mentioned in any comparison of laptops versus desktop PCs. Physical portability allows that a laptop can be used in many places— not only at home and at the office, but also during commuting and flights, in coffee shops, in the school, in libraries, etc. But there are also disadvantages like Performance, Upgradeability, Ergonomics and health effects and Durability.
